Free · private · ad-free — and staying that way

If this helped, you can help keep it free

SeparationSense is free, shows no ads, and never sells your data — your figures don't even leave your device. It exists to make the money side of separation clearer at exactly the moment that's hardest. If you're in a position to chip in, it helps keep it running and free for the next person.

Please read first

If money's tight right now — and if you're using this tool, it might well be — please don't give us anything. Put it toward your own household. Sharing SeparationSense with someone who needs it helps just as much, and it's free.

Where the money goes

This is a deliberately lean tool to run. What people chip in covers:

  • The domain and hosting.
  • Keeping the figures current — child support, tax, Family Tax Benefit, Parenting Payment and Rent Assistance all reindex through the year, and checking each update against Services Australia takes real time. Accuracy is the whole point.
  • Building what's next without ads, paywalls, or selling anyone's data.

No strings. Chipping in doesn't buy advice, a reply, or anything personal — and it never changes the numbers. The engines stay the single source of truth for every figure. It just keeps a free, private tool online for the next family working this out.

Other ways to help

  • Share it. Send it to someone going through a separation, or to a financial counsellor or support worker who could pass it on.
  • Tell us what's wrong. A rate that's drifted or a figure that looks off keeps the tool honest — email [email protected].
  • Sponsor it. If you run a service that fits — financial counselling, mediation, family law done tastefully — see partner with SeparationSense.
If things feel heavy

Separation takes a toll on more than the bank balance. If you're struggling, the Find help page lists free financial, legal and emotional support — and a financial counsellor is free on 1800 007 007.
